Lone Star GCD invites you to participate in our 2026 Symposium Celebrating the District’s 25th Anniversary
The Symposium’s purpose is to promote water awareness and foster meaningful discussion among river authorities, groundwater conservation districts, elected officials, water professionals, and the public.

The Lone Star GCD Symposium is free to attend, but seating is limited and registration is required. Lunch will be provided.
Complimentary Water Well Screening is available for registered exempt private water wells in Montgomery County! More information below.

Free Water Well Screening
The Lone Star Groundwater Conservation District (LSGCD), in partnership with the Texas Well Owner Network (TWON), will offer complimentary water well screening for private water wells located in Montgomery County, Texas.
Please note: All groundwater wells in Montgomery County are required to be registered with LSGCD.
Water samples will be screened for contaminants, including:
- Total coliform bacteria
- E. coli
- Nitrate-nitrogen
- Salinity
After registration is complete, participants will receive instructions regarding the screening process, sample collection, sample drop-off date, and drop-off location.
Screening results will be provided during the LSGCD Symposium, where Dr. Joel Pigg of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and TWON coordinator, will lead an educational session titled “Well Informed.” The session will cover water well basics, Water Wells 101, water quality, and an explanation of participants’ sample results.
Program Eligibility & Registration
To participate in the complimentary water well screening, you must:
- Have one or more registered exempt private water wells located in Montgomery County, Texas.
- At checkout, select “Water Well Screening” when placing your LSGCD Symposium ticket order.
Tickets to the LSGCD Symposium are free of charge. However, space and funding for the water well screening are limited. Secure your screening opportunity today!
